Fun weekend!

Hi! Sorry for the 8 day absence. Things get crazy pretty quickly around these parts! We just got home from Texas!! We left on Friday morning after putting Lulu at the puppy hotel, and came back today. It was a really great time. On the way there, we stopped in Morringsport, LA to visit Leadbelly. His gravesite is really nicely put together and it's a very peaceful drive and cemetary he's buried in. This is Josh with the tomb stone. Josh loves Leadbelly nearly as much as I do!

On to other things! Last weekend I posted about the sewing table that I bought and painted. Soon after, I cleaned up the spare bedroom to begin on making my dream sewing room. This is the first step:
It's a little bland right now, and there are clothes all over the floor right this minute but I'll clean it up eventually again. I always leave rooms a messsssss when I am packing!

Any way, I hope everyone had a really great weekend and enjoyed every drop of it! Back to the daily grind tomorrow!

yard sale score!

Today we went yard saling since I had the Saturday off for once. Josh sometimes goes up to the office on Saturdays, but rarely since I got a job have we spent a Saturday together. I seem to always be at the store working!
Any way, we went yard saling. I scored a pretty nice condition tv dinner table and decided right before I put it in my craft room, to paint it.

I'm going to go ahead and keep the legs the light brown color. I'm pretty happy overall with it, which is good since it will be housing my most prized possession! -- my sewing machine!

new blogger alert

Hi! This is me. My name is Summer C. I enjoy baking, crafting(sewing, crocheting, hot gluing(oh MY! I love hot gluing!)and things of those natures. I hope this blog will be a nice way to dump all the pictures of things I take of my craft doings and baking doings, and my every day life for friends & family to keep an eyeball or two(or three!) on!

Our days mainly consist of working, right now. I work at a local grocery store as a cashier, and Josh works as a news reporter/news editor for the county's newspaper. We enjoy our slow paced life a lot and don't plan on changing speeds anytime soon.
We have 2 fur kids. Lulu, who is a beagle husky mix, and a kitten named Olive Oyl who Josh and his co-workers rescued from the engine of the newspaper van a few months ago.
Any way! That's my introduction :)
